Cox is not the (main) problem

after having time to think somewhat rationally, & put 5 games worth of "data" into perspective, a major theme jumps out.

Cox will neither win nor lose many - if any - games for UGA, & should not be counted on to do so.
He's too inconsistent.

He was definitely off his game for much of the day today - no doubt. Had he not overthrown AJ in the 1st qtr, we are 4-1 right now.
On the flip side, he looked like Montana or Elway on a couple drives.

But benching him in favor of Gray or Mettenberger ain't the answer.

This team has no identity right now.

The OSU game notwithstanding, we were an offensive machine & a defensive joke for 2 games. 41 & 52 pts. Then, Mr. Hyde shows up.
We play lock-down D for 2 games & look like a Pop Warner team on acid on Offense (except for Green).
So which is it guys - who do you want as your leader? Cox or Curran? b/c it can't be both.

We need to find a way to play a complete game. Had someone told me that we'd hold LSU to 12 pts through the 3rd qtr, I'd have been thrilled. Alternatively, if you told me the Dogs would have a big fat zero on the board at the half, & less than 100 yds rushing for the day, I would've told you that LSU wins by 25.
Now that each group knows what the other is capable of, this is the turning pt of the season.

We're at a crossroads w/2 foreseeable options:

1) either the offense plays w/confidence & precision b/c it knows the D can stop the opponent w/regularity, & the D plays w/passion & (controlled) aggression b/c it knows the Off can bail them out if they make a few mistakes. Result? 9-3 & maybe even a BCS bowl.
Or....
2) we fail to find a balance & the rest of the season is a maniacal, maddening roller-coaster (i.e. we beat Fla & Aub & lose to TN, GT & Vandy), & finish 7-5.

time to choose gentlemen.
