We have been put in the 18th spot and we play the #4 spot. Great. Win and get respect and move up...right? No. Not really. We're now being told by Vegas, the writers, and the experts that even though LSU is ranked #4 by THEM..suddenly they aren't for real. They're overrated. They're pretenders. Now then....this puts us in a pickle, does it not? We are suddenly the favorite in this game. It would somehow be a letdown to lose against a team that is ranked 12 spots higher than us.
Win and you exposed a "fraud". Lose and you drop out of the top 25 and everyone jumps on the LSU bandwagon and brags that they've arrived.
Look..it all means nothing. Win the game and move on. I, as a fan though, have the luxury of fretting such nonsense.
It seems the key matchup today is their safety against our stud receiver. That's nice and all but I think it comes down to least mistakes made. We have the same talents and athletes. We have the same tough schedules. We just have to have better focus and execution.
